DUKE HOUSE
This major renovation in Doonan, was an existing dwelling that occupied a double block high up in the Hinterland enjoying far reaching views to Noosa and the beach beyond. It was decided to demolish the house back to the original suspended slab and ground slab, that would allow us to completely redesign the house with a new layout and a totally different style of architecture. The design is based around a series of floating roof planes, some of which have large cut outs for feature trees to grow through. The house now embraces the enviable ocean views as soon as you enter through the front door and from all the main living and sleeping areas. The poolside elevation has been designed around a large framing detail that spans most of the width of the house. A free-standing garage has been extended and turned into a Guest Cottage for visitors coming to stay.
